What To Expect
First Visit
Your first visit will be the longest in duration. Please plan for about 45 minutes.
When you enter the office, you will be greeted by Whitney or Alissa. They will provide you with paperwork to fill out (you may print the paperwork ahead of time and fill it out with the link below). Once you’re done with the paperwork, Dr. Shauna will come out to greet you and take you to the adjusting room.
In the adjusting room, you’ll discuss your reason for the visit, take a health history, and discuss your goals for care. She will then perform an examination, which is legally required for all new patients.
After the examination, she will discuss the findings and get your permission to move onto the adjustment.
The adjustment is where the magic happens! She will analyze your spine for misalignments and perform a chiropractic adjustment to correct these areas of imbalance. The technique she uses is individualized to each patient. Dr. Shauna will also perform some trigger point therapy to your muscles to ensure they are responding to the adjustment appropriately and perform cranial work to ensure all of your fascia that covers your muscles, organs and glands is moving well.
After the adjustment, she will discuss what areas needed an adjustment and how those areas relate to your nervous system. You will both then discuss the next steps and come up with an appropriate care plan.
Investment
In our office, you have two choices on how you’d like to pay for visits.
Prompt pay is a time of service discount fee used by those who prefer not to use their insurance or don’t have insurance. If you pay on the day of service, you get a break in the price. This option can also be used for those interested in regular care who may not have any specific concerns.
The cost for the first visit is $120 and every following visit is $45. You may use a HSA/FSA card for payment.
Insurance is another option. We accept BCBS, Avera, Sanford, UMR, and Medicaid. It is up to the patient to verify that services are covered under their policy and their deductible amounts. Each insurance plan is different and we cannot guarantee coverage. Please bring your insurance card with you to your initial visit.
We do have a financial policy for cancellations and no shows that requires a 24 hour notice for new patients and 12 hour notice for established patients that is subject to a fee of $50 for the missed appointment.
